About the Role:

The Team:
The Data Quality team plays a pivotal role in the S&P Global Commodity Insight’s strategic transformation from a traditional data organization into a next generation data intelligence organization. Our team is responsible for acquisition and curation of high quality datasets to support our customers using both subject matter expertise and automation.
Impact:
You will strive to improve relevant dimensions of data quality for critical data assets, ensuring the availability of high quality, trusted data across the organization. The role will collaborate with stakeholders, analysts and team members on an international level. These efforts are occurring within the broader context of major strategic initiatives to extend our market leadership and build next-generation market data, insights and analytics products that are powered by our world class datasets. This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data quality management, working with cutting-edge technologies and contributing to strategic initiatives within a leading global organization.
Responsibilities:
Assist in daily operations related to data quality, including managing data quality rules, detecting and validating anomalies, coordinating issue resolution processes, and capturing metrics.
Collaborate with data subject matter experts to translate business requirements into data quality requirements, validate results, and support issue resolution and escalation.
Support technical teams in prioritizing data sets for ingestion into data quality tools and ensure proper setup for data quality profiling and monitoring.
Review data quality profiling results and assist in creating reusable custom data quality rules.
Help capture metrics to demonstrate business value and identify improvement opportunities.
Aid in identifying data quality integration and automation opportunities at data ingestion points and within internal applications and dashboards.
Contribute to the enhancement of data quality and governance standards by supporting best practices and advancing data platforms and capabilities.
Participate in new projects to advocate for achieving fit-for-purpose data quality and strategic data quality program objectives .
Engage with stakeholders and data stewards through knowledge sharing, training, and education.
Stay informed about industry trends within data quality and the broader data management discipline.
What we're looking for:
Bachelor's d egree in Data Management, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Graduated in 2024 and available to join immediately.
Basic understanding of data management principles and an interest in data quality practices, including data profiling, rule development, and automation.
Familiarity with data quality tools like soda.io or similar (Great Expectations, Soda, Informatica IDQ, etc.) is a plus.
Proficiency in SQL for data handling and basic experience with Python/ PySpark for data analysis and automation.
Basic knowledge of Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
Understanding of agile development life cycle frameworks and tools like Jira or Rally is advantageous .
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
A bility to work effectively in an international team and independently, showing accountability, adaptability, and a sense of urgency.
Ability to thrive in fast-paced, complex environments where ambiguity may exist.
Openness to sharing ideas, soliciting feedback, and collaboratively finding solutions.
Strong character, integrity, diplomacy, and respect for others.
