The Part-time DM Gastroenterologist plays a crucial role in providing specialized medical care to patients with gastrointestinal conditions. Key Responsibilities:
Conducting patient consultations and examinations to assess gastrointestinal health
Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, including endoscopies and biopsies
Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients with gastrointestinal issues
Performing therapeutic procedures such as polyp removal and stricture dilation
Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
Staying updated on advances in gastroenterology and incorporating best practices into clinical care
Providing education and guidance to patients regarding their conditions and treatment options
Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases and treatment strategies
Documenting patient care and maintaining accurate medical records
Adhering to ethical and legal standards in patient care and interactions
Participating in quality improvement and research initiatives related to gastroenterology
Participating in on-call schedules as required
Required Qualifications:
MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Board certification or eligibility in Gastroenterology
Completion of a Gastroenterology fellowship program
Licensure to practice medicine in the designated location
Proven experience in performing diagnostic procedures such as endoscopies and colonoscopies
Expertise in therapeutic procedures including polypectomy and dilation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in assessing gastrointestinal conditions
