RESEARCH & INNOVATION - RESEARCH OPERATIONS
Masters in Genetics and plant breeding, agronomy, and any related discipline; basic command of English; good computer skills.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in an R & D setup
Under the supervision of the R&D Station Manager and guidence of breeders, this position will act as the ultimate link between the Operations, Breeding and Support teams to ensure the production of high-quality vegetable crops, seed and vegetable transplants to the standards and expectations established by the breeding, research, and operations teams. This position is responsible to provide information and feedback to the station operations team on best management practices, support project management and expected to provide technical support and solutions on his area of operation (open field, greenhouse, research, maintenance) with the purpose of introducing new commercially successful varieties.
Conducts research and/or development of laboratory experiments and/or field projects, off-station testing including locating and contracting yield trial sites. Makes detailed observations, analyzes data and interprets results. Writes experimental reports, summaries and protocols. May also be responsible for media preparation in the research and development area, including experiments as required and outlined. May develop and maintain record keeping for experiments performed and troubleshoots problems. Maintains laboratory equipment and inventory levels for laboratory supplies. May manage off-season nurseries or other field and/or greenhouse testing.
