Purpose of the Role: Our partners are key for BT Business to grow and protect our revenue through how we leverage the partnership ecosystem.

As part of Business, we created a new function, Strategy & Partnerships, to unlock potential with our partners and improve linkage between strategy and partnership execution.

This role is critical to drive a successful relationship with Microsoft (all UK and global channels) for our business unit, with responsibility for supporting commercial management of the partnership including driving improved performance, managing partner programmes, and go-to-market rebates & incentives.

This role is responsible for influencing a much broader set of stakeholders within the sales, product, commercial, strategy and technology functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Managing end to end partner fund and rebate governance aligned with partnerships
  2. Supporting commercial performance reporting – all product lines across all worldwide channels
  3. Establish partner fund management processes and enhance periodically for better efficiencies.
  4. Procurement of partner funds- Coordination with procurement/ billing/ partner portal/partner finance team to manage partner claim.
  5. Maintain partner fund records in Salesforce and ensure visibility of all funds managed and available.
  6. Manage customer associations including CPOR, PAL, and DPOR
  7. Minimizing uncontrolled fund slippage and minimize/eliminate negative P&L impact.
  8. Partner portal management- Maintain access to partner program, proof of performance (POP) & proof of execution (POE) of partner funded activity and compliance.
  9. Periodic partner fund reconciliation with the CFU finance controller
  10. Partner fund Insight, reporting and analysis – both periodic and in-flight
  11. Support Executive reporting and performance reviews, e.g., QBRs.

Skills:

  • Ability to think strategically about the Microsoft partner relationship aligned to BT’s priorities.
  • Strong commercial & analytical acumen – the ability to model scenarios and accurately forecast.
  • Ability to use data to build a favorable commercial position for BT, assimilating complex information and concepts, and simplifying for communication to others.
  • Excellent relationship-building ability across internal and external stakeholders; ability to make recommendations and communicate for approval.
  • Ability to understand and interpret financial statements (e.g., P&L and cashflow) and commercial KPIs.
  • Ability to collaborate with other business units to challenge the BT and Partnership status quo.

A growth mindset and a clear focus on value creation.

Qualifications:

  • Typically, a degree and a post graduate qualification in a related subject, e.g. Business

or Marketing.

Experience:

  • Experience in a complex and multi-faceted business 
  • Experience of commercial management and managing/supporting complex negotiations with external parties
  • Background in Commercial Management and/or Financial Analysis
  • Strong awareness of BT tech, associated markets, partners and competitors

Strong analytical skills – advanced Excel and data visualization
