The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifyinging and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs.
Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organisations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.
GENERAL
Location of Job: Mandi-Himachal Pradesh

1. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
a. Project Management and Coordination
Overall management of the project at different locations under guidance of THF officials.
Guiding project coordinators and field staff to achieve intended objectives.
Developing an action plan to achieve the physical and financial target of the project.
Network, liaise and develop relations with state, district/block level government departments and technical institutions.
Mobile resources from government and technical institutions to bring technical solutions and best practices to the project.
Work closely with the forest department and community during the forest fire season.
Mass level awareness drive on forest fire and content development.
Information, Education and Communication (IEC) behaviour changes communication approaches in the project.
Conduct regular monitoring field visits of the project and hand holding support to the project team and field level staff.
Ensuring stakeholders engagement for the smooth implementation.
Periodic meeting to the project staff, government department and THF’s officials.
Data, case study/anecdotes collection from field with high quality photographs.
b. Capacity building of the project staff and community
Developing training manuals for van panchayats, firefighting response groups and volunteers.
Capacity building of the team.
Providing support to the team members for imparting training to the community.
Conflict resolutions.
c. Team Management and Coordination
Assist community development specialist/nursery expert and block coordinators in supervising the work of the field motivators and other team members and is responsible for optimizing their productivity.
Facilitates the teams in bi-weekly or monthly meetings to review progress against plans, deliverables and find solutions to problems, share lessons learned etc.
Ensure team attendance, keeping the leave records and submitting leaves and attendance records to the Dehradun office in a timely manner.
d. Community Mobilization
Mobilization of community-based institutions like gram panchayat, van panchayat, mahila mangal dal etc. for Mitigation, Preparedness, Response and Recovery.
Supporting project staff in promoting firefighting response groups and identifying village level volunteers.
Community mobilization for awareness generation and increased involvement of community at each stage of the project.
2. Other Indicative Requirements
Educational Qualifications
Master’s degree in social sciences, preferable to have a diploma or certification in related field.
Functional / Technical Skills and Relevant Experience & Other requirements (Behavioural, Language, Certifications etc.)
10 - 12 years of experience in Social sector or forestry-related projects with good project coordination and implementation skills.
Good communication and documentation in English and Hindi
Data analysis, reporting and presentation skills
Leadership and team management skills
Willingness to travel extensively to remote areas

Monday-Saturday
Timings – 09:00 am to 05:30 pm, 8.5 hours of duty

Upto INR 7.20 Lacs Per Annum. (Inclusive of all taxes)
